Keto Air Fryer Green Beans With Garlic

Keto Air Fryer Green Beans With Garlic - Crispy, Simple, and Flavor-Packed

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 12 minutes
Total Time 22 minutes
Servings 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, ends trimmed (haricots verts also work)
  • 1–1.5 tablespoons olive oil (or avocado oil, ghee, or melted butter)
  • 3–4 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder if you prefer)
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional, but brightens the dish)
  • 1–2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice (to finish)
  • Optional toppings: grated Parmesan, toasted sliced almonds, sesame seeds, or a drizzle of chili oil
  • Nonstick spray (if your air fryer basket tends to stick)

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer: Set it to 375°F (190°C). If your model needs preheating, give it about 3–5 minutes. A hot basket helps the beans get crisp.
  • Prep the green beans: Wash and thoroughly dry the green beans. Moisture leads to steaming, not crisping, so pat them dry with a clean towel.
  • Season: In a large bowl, toss green beans with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Add lemon zest for extra brightness.
  • Basket setup: Lightly spray the air fryer basket if sticking is an issue. Arrange beans in a mostly single layer. A slight overlap is fine, but avoid a crowded pile for best browning.
  • Air fry: Cook for 7–10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway. Thinner beans may be done at 7–8 minutes; thicker beans may need up to 10–11. Look for lightly blistered edges and a tender-crisp bite.
  • Finish and taste: Transfer to a bowl, squeeze on lemon juice, and adjust salt and pepper. Add Parmesan or nuts if you like.
  • Serve: Enjoy hot as a side, or fold into salads, bowls, or omelets.
