Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes. Preheating helps the patties sear quickly and cook evenly.
Prep the basket: Lightly spray the basket or tray to prevent sticking. Don’t soak it—just a quick mist.
Place the frozen patties in a single layer: No thawing needed. Leave a little space between patties for airflow. Do not stack.
Season the tops: Sprinkle salt, pepper, and any extra spices on the exposed side of each patty.
Cook for 6–7 minutes, then flip: Season the second side after flipping. This helps build flavor on both sides.
Cook another 5–7 minutes: Total time is typically 11–14 minutes for 4–6 oz beef patties. Exact time depends on thickness and your air fryer model.
Check the temperature: Use an instant-read thermometer in the thickest part. Beef: At least 160°F (71°C) for ground beef safety. Turkey or chicken: 165°F (74°C). Plant-based: Follow package guidance; most are done at 160°F.
Add cheese (optional): Place a slice on each patty and air fry 30–60 seconds until melted.
Toast the buns (optional): Remove the burgers, then add buns cut-side up to the basket. Air fry 1–2 minutes until lightly golden.
Rest and build: Let patties rest 2 minutes to keep juices in. Stack with your favorite toppings and sauces.
