Preheat the air fryer: Set to 390–400°F (200–205°C) for 3–5 minutes. A hot basket gives shrimp a better sear.
Break up the shrimp: If your frozen shrimp are clumped, gently tap the bag on the counter or rinse quickly under cold water to separate.
Pat dry with paper towels.
Season: In a mixing bowl, toss the frozen shrimp with oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Coat evenly.
Arrange in the basket: Spread shrimp in a single layer. A little overlap is okay, but avoid piling.
Air fry: Cook for 5–6 minutes.
Shake the basket or flip shrimp, then cook another 2–4 minutes. Total time is usually 7–10 minutes, depending on size and your air fryer.
Check doneness: Shrimp are ready when pink, opaque, and just curled into a loose “C.” If they’re tight like an “O,” they’re overcooked.
Finish and serve: Squeeze lemon over the shrimp and sprinkle with fresh herbs. Taste and add a pinch more salt if needed.
Serve right away with your favorite sauce.
