Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes. A hot basket helps the breading crisp up fast before the cheese starts to ooze.
Arrange the frozen sticks in a single layer. Don’t thaw them. Space them out so the hot air can circulate. Crowding leads to soggy spots and leaking cheese.
Lightly spray with oil (optional). A quick mist over the tops adds a touch more crunch, especially if your brand has a thinner breading.
Air fry for 5–7 minutes. Start checking at 5 minutes. They’re done when the coating is golden and you see the very first sign of softening at the ends. Avoid overcooking or cheese will burst out.
Let them rest 1–2 minutes. This brief pause helps the cheese settle so it’s gooey but not lava-hot.
Serve with warm marinara or your favorite dip. Add Parmesan or parsley if you like a little extra flair.
