Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 2–3 minutes. Preheating helps the bread crisp evenly right from the start.
Arrange the frozen bread in a single layer. Do not thaw.Place slices cut side up, with a little space between each piece. Crowding traps steam and softens the crust.
Air fry for 5–7 minutes for regular slices. Start checking at 5 minutes. You want golden edges and a lightly crisp top with a soft center.
For thick Texas toast–style garlic bread, cook 6–9 minutes. Thick slices need a bit more time.If the top is browning too fast, reduce heat to 330–340°F and add 1–2 more minutes.
Add cheese in the last 1–2 minutes, if using. Open the basket, sprinkle mozzarella or Parmesan, and finish cooking until melted and bubbly.
Optional flavor boost: When done, brush lightly with melted butter, then sprinkle parsley, a pinch of garlic powder, or red pepper flakes.
Serve hot. Garlic bread tastes best right away, while the edges are crisp and the middle is tender.
